Beach Fashion It’s Not All Swimsuits and Sarongs

The beach is an ideal place to hang out and work on my tan, for about half an hour, then, I’ve tanned all I need and it’s time for me to move on. Since I seem to tan so quickly, I want to get on with my day and that means that there is far more than just the beach.

Beach Wear

When it comes to beachwear, there’s more than just bikinis and of course, rompers. I myself prefer beach dresses and skirts. They’re cool and comfortable and stay with the outdoorsy theme. Of course, there are times that swimsuits are a must, however, you can also opt for other cute beachwear and go above and beyond the swimsuit or the romper for that matter.

When I pack for my beach vacation, I look for things that will be comfortable and stylish. I want to look great whether I’m on the beach, or off. Off the shoulder, styles are great fun and I really like them. I can pair these with skirts or dresses and look great. There are some days where I’m not spending my entire day playing in the sand.

I took photos in South Beach Miami and loved the afternoon I had. After I took these photos I took a walk on the empty beach. It was fun to explore and capture some great shots of the city from a different angle. I wore a nice spaghetti strap dress and ankle strap style sandals. I added some funky jewellery for a taste all my own. It was comfortable and fun.

Beach Fashion

I love to elevate my fashion style and here’s how I do it.

  • Sandals

I always bring sandals. I can wear them with just about anything. I try to focus on what all I’ll be doing and have a few different pair for different outfits. It’s important that they’re comfortable as I’ll be doing a lot of walking.

  • Jewellery

I don’t add a lot of sparkly jewellery. I choose things that are very natural and fit the scene. Beads and beachy colours work well and I love things that look natural like leaves and branches.

  • Sunglasses

Sunglasses are a must-have item. I have several pairs. I can use them to hide my eyes if I’m tired or overdoing it. I can use them if I choose to not wear makeup. They add a flash to my style and look great no matter what I’m doing.

  • Dresses

I am not into the teeny tiny bikini. I’d rather wear something with a bit more fabric. However, to each their own. I choose more reserved clothing items such as caftans, coverups and fun dresses that have a bit of style. I can wear them with a swimsuit or alone and still look fantastic. Dresses are the ideal choice and I love to mix and match my accessories.

  • Shorts

For those who dislike dresses, choose separates like chinos or fun beach tops. JC Crew has some great beach shorts that look fantastic on my body.

  • Sunhat

I also choose to wear a sunhat so that I can prevent wrinkles and too much tanning. Too much tanning makes my skin look all brown and leathery and I hate that look. You can pack a few hats and change your look easily.

  • Layering

I love layering and always have several options of layers when I pack for a beach vacation. It’s fun to mix and match skirts and tops and I like to pack light so I always have a few different mix and match outfits that I can choose from when I go to the beach.
